it seems that there’s a big issue installing Zwift using the wine version 7.2.1.
It crashes at the Edgeview2 Runtime and the installation doesn’t move forward. Is there a way to manually change the wine installer version? I have tried to install the Runtime, both x86 and x64 version using the latest Wine Version and there doesn’t seem to be any issue.
I have also tried looking at the script but there’s no mention to the default wine version used to install.
I just looked at the installer script - it’s installing .NET 2.0 (which I would hope isn’t needed anymore.) and a bunch of other stuff, but the worst part is Webview2. It depends on a browser - Edge (chrome) by default. Running Edge in WINE is not well supported.
From the look of it, the company is leaning heavily towards Android and iOS devices over Windows. If you have a support account, you can ask if the app still uses webview2.
I don’t pretend to know how the app works, but it looks like it needs Bluetooth/USB pedal sensors or something, and those devices probably won’t be available through WINE either.
Lastly, as you’ve necro’d a post over year old old - please remember to post logs
