Why add games to your Lutris Library?

Hello all,

I’m curious as to why someone would add games to their Lutris library? What does that do for you/the client/Lutris?

So you can install them later.

Say you like League of Legends but don’t necessarily want to install it or play it right now. You can add it to your Lutris library and it’ll be there for you to install when you do feel like playing.

I think I’m still missing something. Why couldn’t you install them later?

you totally can yeah, but you’d have to websearch and find the entry on lutris.net, instead of just easily clicking on the gray game icon in your lutris desktop

and library items since they sync to your online account, would show up on other computers’ lutris installs, where your first computer’s local installs would not
