I just created a Lutris account via Steam. now the lutris app is asking for my password, but I never made one, since ive logged in via steam

What worked for me was excluding the account completely. Then you create a new account using your email and setting the password correctly. The only option that worked.
You probably don’t have a password set up for your Lutris account yet. This is common when you sign up to a service using a third party account.
Log into your account using your Steam account, ensure you have a valid email address set up, and request a password reset so you can set up a password with your account.
