Ubisoft in Lutris says game is on mechanical HDD but its SSD, poor performance

Heyho
i have tried on EndavourOS and PopOS, on both on an SSD 1TB after installing lutris and then uplay and there Star Wars Outlasws the game is a stuttering mess while Ubisoft at start of the game tells me the game would be on an old, mechanical HHD and is recommended on a SSD while ii is on a SSD for sure.
Result is no three steps in game and moving/turning around without massive stutter.
whats the issue please?
thx

Where did you buy this game?

Star Wars Outlaws has pretty high hardware requirements.
It is not sensible to start suggesting things until you share your hardware specs, Lutris version, runner version you are using, and some details about the Linux system you are running it on (screen resolution, driver and kernel version etc.)

That said, you can usually ignore messages about HDD vs. SSD. There are a number of games that use similar detection, and they complain because they cannot identify the hardware, but that’s about it. I’ve personally got a game that thinks my M.2 drive is an HDD.

Anyway. This game uses ray tracing, whether your card is good with it or not, so you are far more likely to have an issue with inadequate hardware, bad driver, or need to switch to a more optimised WINE runner.
