Ubisoft connect doesn't start after update

Ubisoft connect worked fine for me until yesterday, when it updated itself. Updates weren’t a problem so far, but now it’s saying “Ubisoft connect has detected an unsolvable error and needs to be restarted”. But a restart doesn’t help at all.
Any idea how to solve this?

Many thanks in advance!

I had the same issue on CachyOS today and found the following solution:

Install ProtonUp-Qt
Install GE-Proton10-10 via ProtonUp-Qt (for Lutris!)
Start Lutris → right click on Ubisoft Connect → Configuration → Starting Options → Wine Version → GE-Proton10-10 → Save
Start Ubisoft Connect

That worked for me.

Thanks for the hint, much appreciated!
Should have mentioned, I’m running Suse Tumbleweed.
Following the suggested procedure didn’t help at first try, so I uninstalled Lutris and reinstalled it via Flatpak. Changed the Wine-Version for Ubisoft connect to GE-Proton10-10 and now it shows up without error, but now I can’t login to my Ubisoft-account anymore:
“An error occurred while trying to send your request. Please try again later.”
One question: what do you mean by “(for Lutris!)”? Is there a specific version of GE-Proton10-10?

Best regards!

When you install Protonup QT, and install Proton, you can select for lutis… hope this helps, loggin in issue i did not happen here, so i don’t know hoe to fix it. Maybe reboot after installing Proton?

Thanks for the help!
Finally I have un- and reinstalled Ubisoft connect, which required the complete path of the former installation to be deleted.
Et voila, I can login to my account again - and download the 50 GB of Anno 1800 again
Btw. seems to me the initial problem was caused by Ubisoft connect itself - one day after the update that initiated it, there was an other one …

Best regards
