Ubisoft Connect does not start (black window)

I am running Lutris 0.5.14 and from yesterday I am not able anymore to start Ubisoft Connect.
The loading window is black and stuck.
I completely reinstall my system but I have the same issue.
I tried with many different versions of Wine (from 10.7 to 10.12 staging).

Can you help me?

I have a similar issue with Flatpak Lutris version 0.5.19 on wine-ge-8-26-x86_64 get a windows error dialogue box:

This version of Ubisoft Connect is not compatible with your operating system.

This started happening after launch and a message saying that there is a newer version of Ubisoft connect launcher and restarting to install it.

Log output:

It does launch with GE-Proton (Latest) but fails to login

My issue was not exactly the same but it occurred after that installation of Ubisoft new version.
I found a solution 30 minutes ago for me and maybe it can help.
It works for me with “wine-10.8-staging”, not the “tkg” version (I always installed tkg).

More info:

referencing:

It should also work with Valve protons.

I do tkg builds with that build system and I’ve had to use Valve builds (e.g. “valve bleeding edge”) in Steam for a long time for the Ubisoft client. I’ve never had an Ubisoft game in Lutris.

Same issue on my side.
Interestingly after reinstall Ubisoft Connect it works fine at the first run. Second run, just black window at the middle of the screen.

“wine-10.8-staging” does launch Ubisoft connect but then has the same login issue as Proton-GE where I can’t login. I can login under Steam on the Deck, so it’s not a login issue. Cheers for the fix.

Can confirm that it works perfectly fine under Steam on the Steam Deck. Definitely a Lutris wine-ge-8-26-x86_64 issue. Not sure why GE-Proton isn’t working under Lutris, I’m running flatpak Lutris 0.5.19 which ships with umu-launcher, so should work.

Edit: After a second system update, the issue seems fixed.

Hi ! Same problem here with Catchyos-proton, ubisoft connect doesn’t start and gives me the equivalent of a black window (using hyprland so it’s not rendering the same) since system update today.

Is there any more information on this? I’ve tried a bunch of different runners and they seem to have a variety of different logs but the end result is that none of them work.

On my side, like I said, it works well with "wine-10.8-staging” and the default settings.

This version works for two Ubisoft games I have, but not for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Has anyone found a solution to get AC Mirage running again?

For me, things started working again after removing the DLL override for Ubisoft (and all the games in the launcher).

After that (no libglesv2 override), no black screen/high cpu usage anymore.

Leaving this override enabled, resulted in me being able to start one time, after closing black splash and nothing. Without the override, everything seems to work fine for me. Any place we can mention this?

I am using proton-GE 10-10 btw on an up-to-date fedora (KDE).

Thank you.
It works for me too on Pop!_OS Cosmic with wine-10-12.

Sadly that doesn’t work for me on my system.
I’m trying to get good logs on it but the lutris client freezes before uplay updated itself.

Edit: this is my log: https://0x0.st/8hHY.txt

This worked! Thank you so much!
