Ubisoft connect and EA App not opening

First and foremost I need to get out of the way that I am a complete noob when it comes to this stuff so If I could get someone to explain things out to me as simply as possible I’d greatly appreciate it. just yesterday I tried opening Ubisoft Connect to play a game and got an error message that says “This version of Ubisoft Connect is not compatible with your operating system.”, I don’t remember doing anything to what ever the default setting are in the app, so I don’t know why it is suddenly doing this, I have also tried running the EA App through the Launcher as well only to get a download/install window (I already downloaded the EA App launcher when I set this launcher up) if I could get some help getting these two services back up and running I’d greatly appreciate it. the paste ubuntu site seems to be down as it won’t let me create an account

Ubisoft has recently updated his client and you can no more install it with GE-Proton, it simply crashes.

Try this:

  • First be sure you installed latest Lutris version, actually 5.22
  • install Ubisoft with Lutris from our official script installer:
    Ubisoft Connect - Lutris
  • if you try to launch it, it will not find executable
  • change Wine version associated with your Ubisoft install with another one like wine-staging or Wine-staging-tkg ( you can install other Wine versions to Lutris with ProtonPlus
  • download Ubisoft from official site
  • now install Ubisoft Connect using “execute in current wineprefix”
  • once Ubisoft Connect correctly installed, you can associate again his wineprefix with “GE-Proton latest”
