Trying to get Crazy Flips 3D working on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS using Lutris – need help!

I’ve been trying to get Crazy Flips 3D up and running on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS through Lutris, but I’m hitting a few snags. The installation goes through just fine, but when I try to launch the game, it either freezes on the loading screen or opens with messed-up visuals and no audio.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Tested with different Wine runners (GE-Proton 8, Wine-Staging)
  • Enabled/disabled Esync and DXVK
  • Installed required components via winetricks (d3dx9, vcrun2015, xact, etc.)
  • Ran in windowed mode and played with resolution settings
  • Checked Lutris logs (just a few OpenAL warnings — nothing critical)
Still no luck — the gameplay is choppy or won’t load at all. :weary: I’ve seen a few people mention Crazy Flips 3D works well on other distros, so maybe it’s something DE- or kernel-related?
    System info:
  • Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • GTX 1660 Super (NVIDIA proprietary 550 driver)
  • Lutris 0.5.15
If anyone out there has gotten Crazy Flips 3D to run smoothly on Linux, I’d really appreciate your setup details or any config tips. At this point, I’m this close to rage-flipping my mouse IRL!
