I’ve downloaded the Pillars of Eternity II from GOG through wine, as I find the native version runs poorly. The game runs smoothly, but I wanted to switch tags in dwm to check on my browser with the game running in windowed mode. When I switched back, the audio loaded immediately, but not the graphics.
I waited for ~5 minutes before killing the game, and tried to relaunch it and enable windowed. The same result persevered. I’m not too sure if this is a common wine thing, but if it’s fixable, I’d love to know. 
I found a solution, though I would prefer a more…elegant(?) one.
selecting the game in lutris, click configure wine and go to graphics and I think “emulate desktop” or similar option. then input the desired screen resolution. This is a little slower than merely running the game, but this allows you to switch focus to other tags and back again.
