Steam - MISSING FILE PRIVILEGES

I’ve reinstalled my Linux & Steam.
I had backedup/saved the game data files.
When I try to “locate” my existing Steam games, it validates then says:

MISSING FILE PRIVILEGES

I have done a:

sudo chmod -R 777
sudo chown -R user:user
on all my data files in the new ext4 partition…

Anyone seen this problem before?

In Steam, make sure each game can launch and you have the appropriate public profile for the user and games setup in steam settings
