Star Citizen hangs on installation

I can’t get it to install anymore. I get this:

“00b9:err:ole:marshal_object Failed to create an IRpcStubBuffer from IPSFactory for {659cdeac-489e-11d9-a9cd-000d56965251} with error 0x80004002
00cd:err:ole:ClientIdentity_QueryMultipleInterfaces IRemUnknown_RemQueryInterface failed with error 0x80004002
00c8:fixme:heap:RtlSetHeapInformation (nil) 1 (nil) 0 stub”

This is on Manjaro with kernels 5.3.15-1 & 5.4.2-1 and Mesa 19.2.7 (& some previous v19 versions). Hardware: RX 5700 & Ryzen 2700X.

Anyone know why?

Cheers.

Can you give a bit more Info on when this occured and what exactly you where trying to do? Did this error occur while lutris was installing the RSI Launcher or when the RSI Launcher was trying to install Star Citizen? Did you create your wine Prefix on a NTFS-Formatted Partition?

I had the game installed previously but I decided to completely remove it and start over. I ran the latest installer on Lutris but I can’t even get the Star Citizen launcher to install anymore and that’s what the error message is from. I’m trying to install it on my ext4 SSD as usual, just like all my other games.

Cheers.

I am having the exact same issue. Tried installing through lutris, followed the instructions in the links the lutris page recommended, I get a wine-mono and wine-gecko error on start up, the installer gets stuck and has to be killed. Last lines in lutris log are the same as the ones posted above by @ adude however my system is an i7 8700k with a 1080TI, also Manjaro with Kernal 5.3.18 using the nvidia drivers. I do notice that if i try to install the RSI Launcher separate from Lutris the installer gets stuck in the middle of a console output. Let me know what other info I can provide that can help solve this.

Maybe is has something to do with that manjaro kernel? Have you tried another kernel, preferably an older version like 4.19 or one that you know you had when it worked before? I’m using Arch Linux with the newest kernel, and for me it installs just fine.

I’ve since got the game installed. Though I’m sorry to say that I can’t even remember what I did, but I think it involved copying over parts of an old install. Still, the game runs so badly I can’t even play it anyway so it makes little difference in my case :stuck_out_tongue:
