[SOLVED] Winetricks isnt opening

Im trying to open winetricks but it isnt opening!

the output of lutris -d when i try to open winetricks is

I get this also and cannot run winetricks within lutris. No idea how to fix it!

This is a problem (for now). Please change to any 5.xx version.
Maybe this problem will be fixed later…
I don’t know is it a problem with Lutris or Winetricks - I think the second one.

I was using Wine-staging 5.22 from official repo, is staging also not allowed?

Tried non staging.

Wine-Staging afaik is recommended and all Lutris compilation are based on staging version.
For me 5.22 works fine. Did you check logs? Is it the same error?

Did you change version on existing wineprefix or create a new one?

Ok it works on default system wine-staging but perhaps not on proton-experimental containers? odd.

Seems winetricks (within lutris) is VERY picky on what containers and wine versions it operates under… Shame.

Can probably just use sppfx.sh script as a work around in time being.

Proton containers are “tricky”… unfortunately. They are not adapted to work with Winetricks by default.

I figured it out
It can be fixed by disabling the lutris runtime, with it disabled running winetricks, then you can close winetricks, then restarting lutris and enable the runtime again, winetricks then works normally. ( disable the lutris runtime by going to your game, then hit the configure option, then in the system options hit disable lutris runtime)

It only works with lutris runtime disabled for me. Enabling it again stops it running.
