[Solved] No permission for game update on battlenet (login as admin)

Hello,

Since this morning, without any visible update from Lutris or Battlenet, I’ve been having a problem where World of Warcraft Forever says it needs an update, and when I try to do so, I get a message telling me to log in to Battlenet as an administrator to update.

The last update worked fine.

Has anyone been able to fix this issue? According to Battle.net’s help section, it’s a file system permission problem.

what is your Lutris version?
Are you using GE-PRoton latest for Battle.net?

Yes, I’m using the default configuration.

I found the source of the error.
It was caused by a .rar add-on.

It was still in the game’s add-on folder, and it wasn’t until I removed it that I was able to use everything as usual again.

So if anyone else is experiencing this error, a workaround is to remove all .rar files from the add-on folder.
