[Solved] Error with Battle.net

Hi. I have been trying to launch Battle.net with GE-Proton, Proton-Experimental and Proton Hotfix with no success. Here are the errors I’m getting on GE-Proton.

When I try with Proton 9.0 (beta), the Battle.net launcher works but I can’t play the game. I’m getting this every time. The Battle.net update doesn’t work. I’m getting the same issue on wine-ge-8-26-x86_64.

Hi,

Battle.net today for me has worked with Wine 10 only. Specifically this version: wine-10.20-staging-tkg-amd64.

I only play Starcraft 1 and 2. Warcraft III Reforged doesn’t work

Thx for the reply. I do not have Wine 10 in Lutris right now.

Problem fixed. I re-installed Battle.net via PortProton and it’s working.

Hi, to install other versions of Wine and Proton, you can use Proton Plus. From that tool you can manage several versions of Proton and Wine and manage it directly in Steam and Lutris.

Late to the party, but finally trying other runners. I have been running lutris-GE-Proton8-13-x86_64 for a couple years with relatively good success comparatively for WoW. I think a sprinkle of wine-10.6-staging-tkg-amd64 also worked. I tried a few different version 11 runners, but none of the wine staging versions (11, 11.2, 11.9) worked for me. However, the proton-cachyos-11.0-x86_64 worked fine for me all this last week w/o a hiccup. It did do a full set of new “updates” for my games, but only did it one time and not constant downloads. I believe I did have to change permissions on the blizzard game folder in linux to open up the write permissions to other than just my user.
