[SOLVED] Debian: what is the best way for using Lutris?

Hello everyone,
What’s the best way for using lutris with debian?

Using Debian repository is safe; but it’s a long time between the release of a new version, and the delivery of official package in the depots.

Is Lutris with flatpak good working? Other method? Thanks

EDIT: I removed the ‘deb’ file link etc since as others mentioned below it appears there is a more proper way for Debian given the official installation instructions and it’s the newest v0.5.18.

I’m using the repo at /repositories/home:/strycore/Debian_11 - openSUSE Download
I’m on Debian 12 but it still works. Beware, repo link is mangled by forum software.

Flatpak works too but I don’t like flatpak and avoid it whenever I can. I would use an appimage if there was one but the repo is fine for now.

I’m using Debian testing, which is not that much behind (1 minor version atm). It is also possible to use some packages from testing in stable with proper pinning, but you have to be careful about dependencies. Lutris should be ok, I had it installed this way few weeks back.

Honestly, I’d rather suggest some more safe methods though, but this is option as well.

If the version from trixie works that’s a reasonably safe way as long as you know how to handle apt pinning (important!). sid might be even better.
But since strycore’s repo is recommended by Download Lutris I think that’s the best way for people that have no experience with pinning. I just saw that there’s a Debian 12 repo version now so I’ll switch to that.

Thanks a lot!

I tought this repo was discontinued. Thanks for your advices.

the download page of forum is preferred but new version may not working well with multiple mounted iso images.
