When I attempt to launch SimCity 2013, the SimCity launcher shows up. However, a black screen shows up when I press play and the game freezes.

Just tried Simcity 2013 today and was having the same problem. In checking the runners, I noticed Lutris changed Origin to the latest Wine version on my system, 7.22. When I reverted to Lutris 6.4 x86_64 or Lutris 5.2 x86_64 all operated as expected. I didn’t try Lutris 6.1 x86_64 but I would imagine it would work as well. I decided to stay with the 5.2 runner.
But heads up, at least om my box it was a little slow to update the screen on startup and exit. Everything will return to normal, just need to be patient.
