Red Dead Redemtion 2 not launching

Hi everyone,

I am trying to get RDR2 to work, but nothing seems to work. I have spent hours on troubleshooting but I’m out of ideas.

Behaviour:
I can start Rockstar Launcher from Lutris and can start other games. When I try to start RDR2 it says “game starting” and after some seconds “game closing”. No error whatsoever in Rockstar Launcher

The errors (from lutris log):
With lutris 6.10-5:
wine: Read access denied for device L"\\??\\D:\\", FS volume label and serial are not available.

With protonGE 6.12:

wine: Read access denied for device L"\\??\\D:\\", FS volume label and serial are not available.
wine Unhandled page fault on read access to 0000000000000000 at address 000000002D04396A (thread 03fc)

What I already tried:
Reboot
BIOS Update
Different Wine versions
Different launch commands
Different Wine Settings (ESYNC, FSYNC, DXVK Versions, …)
Tried basically all the solutions I could find in the internet

System infomation:
OS: Manjaro 5.10.42-1
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080 FE
Mainboard: MSI X570 Gaming Plus
RAM: 32 GB @ 3200Mhz CL15
GPU Driver: nonfree 465.31

Hello - just had the same problem and have solved it.

Make sure you use the Lutris supplied Wine 6.0 - that is to say, Wine-TkG 6.0. The newer ones were hitting page faults in the launcher for me.

In DLL overrides for the game, set d3d12 to d.

Should be that simple. At least, it has solved the issue for me.
