Pokemon FireRed Won't Launch

I’m running Fedora 32 on a Dell laptop. I’m trying to run Pokemon FireRed with Libretro. The ROM version I’m using is from emulatorgames . net.

The game won’t launch. When I click the launch button, after a few seconds, the screen just flashes once and then nothing.
