Overwatch, disappeared?

Last weekend I discovered that some people had been rather successful with Overwatch in Linux in the last month+.

I saw this page : https://lutris.net/games/overwatch/

Now, the curious thing is that page, about a week ago, already had some info about how to get it installed and such. Now the page doesn’t have any info. Furthermore, the installer script already had some wine patches applied, specific to Overwatch.

The patches were here : https://github.com/gamax92/wine-overwatch

But as you can see, that is now 404’d. And I really don’t understand why.

Something is afoot, and I am kind of bummed out that I can’t play Overwatch at all, especially since my friend helped pay for it. Now, I know that’s not your responsibility, but it is a bummer.

From what I was reading last weekend though was that Overwatch 1.9 broke the WINE patches, or something of the sort. So I was hoping that could have been fixed soon. But, now that the github page is 404’d, and now the Lutris install profile looks to be gone, I think something bigger is going on.

So, can anyone tell me what’s up? I’m quite confused. I’ve never seen this kind of thing happen before! It’s concerning.

That is correct.

Click “show unpublished installers”, you can try them out but you won’t get anything running.

We still have a build of that available: https://lutris.net/files/runners/wine-overwatch-2.3-x86_64.tar.gz

Aha! Well, I see that now. Whoops!
