Overwatch: can play only at 50Hz but my card supports 120Hz

On Windows 10 I can play Overwatch at 120HZ. With Lutris the video options inside the game only allow me to play at 50Hz.

This is the output from the terminal:

$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 32767 x 32767
HDMI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-0 connected primary 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 381mm x 214mm
   1920x1080    120.00*+
DP-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-3 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-4 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

This is solvable, I don’t have it myself, but helped someone with it on Discord. Now if only I could remember what is was.

I think it had to do with his screen was set to 120hz. But his DE (WM?) was set to a lower refresh rate. So let me suggest a few things you can try:

  • See if you can set your DE(WM) to 120hz
  • Override “Limit FPS” and just set it to 120hz
  • Run OW in a Wine Virtual Desktop

This may be the solution:

I’ve found that is depends on the selected runner. For example with runner lutris-4.16-x86_64 it works so far so good.

The fshack versions of wine work as expected. Working now.
