Nothing happens when I try to start Wine configuration, registry, Winetricks, or Joystick CP

Terminal output is

[thread]:No game process available

for each of those.

I’m using version 0.4.5, Wine 2.3-staging, the game is TESV: Skyrim installed through WineSteam.
Am I missing some files? I installed Wine through Lutris’ “Manage runners” only.

Is this also reproducible in Lutris 0.4.6?

Yes, it’s still the same. Do you need a log or something? If so, where can I find it?

You can give more info by pasting the result of /usr/share/lutris/bin/desktop_info.sh here.

Be sure to run lutris from the command line with the -d parameter.

Also try disabling the runtime in the game’s system options.

Okay, so with -d parameter and runtime disabled, this is the terminal output:

I also have this problem with trying to wine configuration for LoL.

I fixed 3/4 of those by setting the “Wine prefix”

Winetricks still doesn’t work though

I created a symlink for the wine prefix used by Lutris WineSteam runner at the location used by Winetricks.
$ ln -s ~/.local/share/lutris/runners/winesteam/prefix/ ~/.local/share/wineprefixes/LutrisWineSteam
Not sure if that helps.

Edit:  So I’m new to Lutris and learning its features and functions. Just discovered that you can launch Winetricks from within Lutris and it (appears to) sets the instance “default” location to the game’s Lutris managed prefix. That being said, my suggestion should also work whether you launch Winetricks from Lutris or natively.

hmm, are you running Lutris 0.4.8 because some of those issues sure look like those I fixed in that release.

Running 0.4.8 and disabling Lutris Runtime in System Options fixed winetricks not working. Winecfg, registry, and joypad work fine either way.

do you have an error log of what happens when running winetricks with the runtime enabled?

I have removed libwayland from the Lutris runtime, which was causing issues on newer linux distros. Winetricks should start now.

Perfect. I can confirm it’s working now.
