I’m running Linux Mint 22 with Cinnamon 6.2.9, and Lutris 0.5.17.
When I launch a non-Steam game under Lutris, it shows up in the desktop environment as another window of the Lutris app.
I suspect this has something to do with cgroups: I don’t know much about how cgroups work under the hood, but my understanding is they are a Linux kernel feature for grouping processes that desktop environments sometimes use to group disparate processes into a single “application”.
I have heard of similar issues happening elsewhere. I think the problem is that Lutris needs to launch the game with a new cgroup/process group instead of inheriting Lutris’.
