Newbie question: Lutris / Ubisoft and wrong free space

Hi there,

so I am running lutris on a linux mint 22.1 system. Up to now, I was only using steam, but as I own some games bought directly under ubisoft launcher, I want to install them.

What works: I can start Ubisoft launcher from lutris and logon to my account.
What does not work: Select any other folder as installation folder when I try to install a game from Ubisoft launcher. In my case, there is a folder called /lgames/ubisoft (directly under /) and I can access it from my logged in user. But in the select folder box, I can see /lgames, but no folder under that.

What did I already try? I had a similar problem in the past where I reminded myself that this application was running as flatpak, so I gave this a try: I installed flatseal and gave all applications access to /lgames/ubisoft, but this didn’t help.

Can anyone please tell me where my mistake is? Also, I am not that deep into wine config, so perhaps there is way to move all ubisoft specific files to a folder under /lgames?

I googled around a little bit and I still don´t have any solution. But I guess more information would be helpful.

So, here we go:

  • in the config of the game itself (rightclick, configure) I am using “Proton 9.0 (Beta)” as wine version
  • in wine configuration of the runner, I configured a new drive where I want to install the game: G:, pointing to local path /lgames
  • df shows:
Dateisystem Größe Benutzt Verf. Verw% Eingehängt auf
    /dev/mapper/lingaming-lgame 1,7T 508G 1,1T 32% /lgame
(yes, I am using a lvm drive - may this be the problem?)
  • the user rights are:
    drwxrwxrwx 13 myuser root 4096 Jan 29 12:03 lgames
  • when I try to install the game, it says that it needs 69482 MB, but only 16795 are free.

I already thought that it may miscalculate the sive of the lvm, but this might not be the case. The lvm is created of the following partition:
a. sda1: size 1.18 TiB
b. sda3: size 512.22 GiB
