New Origin Update - Fails

A few weeks ago I was able to get Origin working using the updateorigin script, however, Origin still tries to update when it opens. Has any else had this issue? Looks like they just pushed this update out.

I have removed everything out of the directory, ran the script and Origin still tries to update when launched. I just get Error code 9:0.

Im Having the same issue. But no idea why it doesnt work. My best guess would be that the file the script is downloading isnt updated yet.

I don’t think the update script needs updating… I could be wrong, but it looks like it just pulls the latest,

Might be Esync issue…

Started BFV through Lutris, I noticed that Origin wanted to update so closed it and went to Origin folder to use updateorigin.sh script. Ran that and tried to start Origin, still wanted to update… Update seem to download something and then origin screen just disappeared.

Then went to BF1 Origin folder, ran updateorigin.sh and then started Origin, same update process begin. I checked if it would go through. Downloaded update, and then on same point where Origin just disappeared at BFV, update screen bounced back up. It installed update and then Origin started normally.

Main differences between these games is just that in BF1 I have Esync off. So maybe thats the issue. I turned Esync off from BFV and started Origin, update went through and Origin started normally. Then closed and turned Esync on and started playing.

Updating via updateorigins.sh script didn’t work for me. I think that this update is so new, that they haven’t published the new exe yet.

Funny enough, updating it via the Origin update screen itself worked wonderfully for me (this hasn’t worked for the last couple of years)

What version of wine/proton are you using?

Still won’t update for me using the origin updater.

It might really have something to do with esync. take a look here, these workarounds might help you

It is esync for sure, just updated origin by itself with esync disabled in lutris. Then switched back once it loads.
