Lutris will not install the Battle.net app

It keeps saying installed but will Not launch due to ( can not find the .exe Command in folder) i have been working on this for the last 2 days and am about to Destroy a laptop AMD Ryzen 9 with a 6800m gfx card which has been working fine for months, any ideas on what may be causing this? According to everything i have done, I have the latest version of Lutris and I upgraded Ubuntu tonight so those did not help

Hi,

No executable set either means the installer failed or something else happened.
In config, the Exe should be something like (replace /games/lutris with your default, whatever that is)
/games/lutris/battlenet/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Battle.net/Battle.net Launcher.exe
and the prefix
/games/lutris/battlenet/

Did you remember to purge the old wine-staging dependencies and install new for your new version of Ubuntu? If not, do that first, set the Lutris default to system wine(staging), remove Battle net completely from Lutris, rename or delete any remaining directory, and try again.

Did you login during install? If the battle.net is in the library, manually download the battle.net setup from Blizzard and then use the up arrow next to the wine glass (beside the play button when BNet is selected) → run exe in wine prefix → select the battle.net installer you downloaded. Also, you will need to get the 0.5.18 deb for Ubuntu from the Downloads page on lutris.net and install it in terminal using:
sudo apt install ./lutris (press the tab key here to complete the file name)
It will give a silly error but should allow BNet to install after
Last tip, battle.net with 0.5.18 runs best with proton-ge which can be selected by right clicking battle.net in lutris → runner options tab and change the selected wine version
