Lutris + Origin + Dragon Age

Hi all,
Newcomer here. I’m using an HP Elitebook 840 G2 i5 with 16MiB RAM and Linux Mint 19. My graphics adapter details are:

$ inxi -G
Graphics:
Device-1: Intel HD Graphics 5500 driver: i915 v: kernel
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.19.6 driver: modesetting unloaded: fbdev,vesa
resolution: 2560x1440~60Hz, 2560x1440~60Hz
OpenGL: renderer: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 5500 (Broadwell GT2)
v: 4.5 Mesa 19.2.0-devel - padoka PPA

I installed Lutris using the instructions provided at:
https://linuxhint.com/install-lutris-an-open-gaming-platform-for-linux/

And I installed Origin from here:

I originally installed the latest version that uses DXVK but it requested to choose the graphics adapter - either AMD or Nvidia. With either option, the installation completed and accessed Origin normally.

Once I downloaded and installed Dragon Age Origins everything seemed to be fine, but the game never starts, most likely due to the graphics adapter.

I have just installed Origin legacy version, which does not ask for the graphics adapter type and am currently downloading Dragon Age again. I’ll let you know what happens. But is this normal?

Cheers

@gtludwig I don’t know if what you are describing is normal, but if you continue to have problems I would suggest reading Please read before asking for help and follow the suggestion in that post.

Remember to disable the origin overlay if you didn’t already.
