Lutris crashes when I click the "+" symbol to add games or "Preferences" in the kebab menu

Hello!

Lutris crashes when I click the “+” symbol to add games or “Preferences” in the kebab menu. Might also happen with other interactions, I have only tried those two so far. I run Kubuntu 26.04, with a 9th gen i5 and 16gb ram.

It does not crash if I try to launch a game (emulated roms), then I just get a prompt to set BIOS in Preferences dialogue. I have un- and re-installed Lutris in three or four different ways several times.

EDIT: logging in to and downloading from GOG worked just fine, as did launching the game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m going to hazard a guess that your icon theme being used has xpm images in it and your distro has broken image handling (glycin, gdk-pixbuf, librsvg)

Try changing the icon theme that GTK+3 is using. Try something mainstream and modern.
