League of legends on external HDD

Hi guys! I’m trying to install League of Legends on external HDD. It used to work with w10, but with Linux it’s a bit hard to do
Running Linux Mint 18.3 Cinammon 64bit

In the lutris install dialogue, there is an option to pick the game’s install directory, use this to select your external hdd, make sure to have a folder dedicated to lol on your hdd.

I’ve done this. Now the client works but the game won’t start… I have a black screen but I can see the center part of my taskbar
