Last battle.net installer not working

hi guys,

i had tried to install battle.net on lutris under flatpak and on the setup instalation process enter an error messege.

im sure this is because microsoft is blocking the install process…

I’m sure this makes it difficult to fix it
I can use an answer that clarifies this problem

thanks!

Hello, you will need to install WIne Staging 10.7 TKG, follow this steps:

How to install Wine Staging 10.7 TKG to Lutris using ProtonPlus and set it as default Lutris WIne version

  1. install ProtonPlus with Flatpak: Install ProtonPlus on Linux | Flathub
To install ProtonPlus from a terminal:
    flatpak install flathub com.vysp3r.ProtonPlus
You can also compile it from sources: GitHub - Vysp3r/ProtonPlus: A modern compatibility tools manager for Linux.

  2. Then open ProtonPlus and install Wine-Staging 10.7 TKG for Lutris

  3. Now set default Lutris Wine version to Wine Staging 10.7 TKG In Lutris left panel,
choose Wine Runner, click on config icon, then, in “Runner options” tab,
change Wine version to Wine Staging 10.7 TKG and save

Thanks so much for 10.7 TKG guide

Did you check the logfile ?

Hi!

I also lost access to BNet recently.
On Fedora Lutris is marked as “Arrêt de la réception des mises à jour” meaning “[Lutris] has stopped to be updated”, so I thought it was a Lutris issue. This is a screen capture, perhaps it may help:

Capture d’écran du 2025-05-06 02-48-37

Will try this week-end your solution @legluondunet and update here.

Guys,

Im sorry about this and i supose this IS not good way out

I have found that to install battle.net exe with Steam and protón IS better

This can help

Little update, could not finish BNet reinstall at all.

The error message “battle.net-setup.exe” ne répond pas aka “battle.net-setup.exe does not answer (?)” and I cannot click on either “Force to leave” or “Wait”, nor close the window.

I will try via Steam @jacobetch as a back up solution. Thanks for proposal.
However I tried via Bottles/Bouteilles and the result was not pretty (crash), I wonder if it could be a BNet issue. Seems so. I Will update this week-end…

+1 to this. Seems to be bnet related.

wineserver: ../server/sock.c:1154: complete_async_poll: Assertion output->count == signaled_count' failed.
wine client error:1e0: write: Bad file descriptor

I upgraded all possible package versions in the dependency chains - still nothing
educated guess: they broke some api wine relied upon.
tried some reconfig from the lutris github.

Hasn’t worked for me. But maybe this helps someone.
