I’m having the same exact issue. But now when try and play wow game freezes and locks up. where as ge-wine didn’t before. Any help you can give try fix this?
I also lost access to BNet recently.
On Fedora Lutris is marked as “Arrêt de la réception des mises à jour” meaning “[Lutris] has stopped to be updated”, so I thought it was a Lutris issue. This is a screen capture, perhaps it may help:
Will try this week-end your solution @legluondunet and update here.
The error message “battle.net-setup.exe” ne répond pas aka “battle.net-setup.exe does not answer (?)” and I cannot click on either “Force to leave” or “Wait”, nor close the window.
I will try via Steam @jacobetch as a back up solution. Thanks for proposal.
However I tried via Bottles/Bouteilles and the result was not pretty (crash), I wonder if it could be a BNet issue. Seems so. I Will update this week-end…
I upgraded all possible package versions in the dependency chains - still nothing
educated guess: they broke some api wine relied upon.
tried some reconfig from the lutris github.
I am using Steam to launch BNet (quite easy): It works but I cannot set my monitors (disable extras) and their resolution right Lutris was better since I could set everything right with Lutris. I hope it works again soon.
→ set “GE-Proton latest” as default in Lutris to resolve Battle.Net install issue
in Lutris menu, preferences, runners, wine, click on the wheel, set “GE-Proton latest” as default Lutris Wine version
→ use “GE-Proton latest” to play WOW, Warcraft III, starcraft etc…
→ If Battle.Net interface is black, enable hardware acceleration in Battle.Net options
If you don’t have “GE-Proton latest” in your list, you will need to install GE-Proton 10.4 (or an older version) with a tierce app like ProtonPlus
