^ Key Usage in World of Warcraft

Hello fellow Lutris-Users i have a Question pending which may be too very specific to ask but im still gonna try.

in World of Warcraft you can bind Abilities to nearly all Keys on the Keyboard, even combining inputs like

CTRL+SHIFT+BUTTON_YOU_WANNA_USE

in my specific Case i am using the ^ Key for some Keybinds , the combination CTRL+^ is not working, as is the single ^ Key, BUT, if im using CTRL+SHIFT+^ Key the Combination just works fine aswell as shift+^, does anybody have any clue what could cause this issue?

Hey i have the same Problem on Guild Wars 2 the ^ Key is used for weapon switch. But only works with CTRL + ^ . Searching for an solution too.

Check what your keyboard is defined as - you may have set up US layout which could have the ^ defined in a different location (on my keyboard it accessed using Shift - 6)

Some linux windowing systems (usually Gnome) used shift+ctrl+ to do things, and any shift+ctrl combo didn’t work through Proton unless you disabled it (gnome tweak tool)

Some WINE/Proton versions had issues with shift key combos - sending unexpected keycodes for internationally different keys (3 would be # instead of £ etc.) As per OJ’s advice - try setting the system to a standard US keyboard before launching - if you get consistent results then you know that Proton is doing something wrong.

Other things that could interfere with it are overlays and macro programs.
