No luck with any of the suggestions. still black flashes every 2 seconds no matter which version of wine I use.
Well, the flashing black every 2 seconds made the game unplayable and now, with a recent update to the game it no longer launches so we are back to Lutris not being a viable solution. I will just have to wait for it to be released on Steam or simply not buy games from this developer any longer. Lutris is definitely not the answer.
I was having issues with my computer locking up, rebooting, crashing. And I determined it was due to all the installing different packages trying to get Lutris to work which broke my system I finally had to do a clean install of Ubuntu to get everything functioning properly again. I would not recommend using Lutris currently.
