I can't download anything (error code 256 with ubuntu)

So, i was recently trying to install battle.net on my hp chromebook 11 G8 ee, but i kept getting this message pop up on the installer:

Started initial process 14672 from /home/xenos/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine/lutris-7.2-2-x86_64/bin/wine 256/battlenet/setup/Battle.net-Setup.exe

also noteworthy, no installer pops up, ever.
what should i do?

it seems like the 256 error code is when lutris thinks you do not own a game…
in other words it is not registered through lutris, which is really stupid way of doing things.
specially when people just want to play their games, it is not up to lutris to approve what games you can play or not.

i could be wrong, but support here seems to be lacking when it comes to installing and that is where 50% of the issues reside for lutris…
