Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to get Gunspin up and running on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS using Lutris, and I’m running into a few hiccups. The installation goes through fine, but when I try to launch the game, it either freezes at the loading screen or launches with glitchy visuals and no sound.
Here’s what I’ve attempted so far:

  • Tried multiple Wine runners (GE-Proton 8, Wine-Staging)
  • Enabled Esync and DXVK, also tried toggling them off
  • Installed required packages with winetricks (d3dx9, vcrun2015, xact, etc.)
  • Ran in windowed mode and adjusted screen resolution manually
  • Checked Lutris logs (no major errors, just some OpenAL warnings)

Still no smooth gameplay :disappointed:. I’ve seen some people mention Gunspin working fine on other distros — maybe a different DE or kernel tweak?
System info:

  • Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • GTX 1660 Super (NVIDIA proprietary 550 driver)
  • Lutris 0.5.15
If anyone in the community has got Gunspin working on Linux, I’d love to know your setup or any special config tips you used! I’m so close to rage-spinning my mouse IRL at this point!
