GTA V crashing: page fault on read access to 0x00000000

Merry x-mas everybody

For a couple of days now I’m struggling to get GTA V running on any Linux machine with AMD GPU.

The Game starts fine, but it crashes when I try to launch single-player or multiplayer. Main Menu is fine.

Here is a log (wine-debug enabled, i.k online wouldn’t work with wine-debug enabled):

My workstation:

  • 2x Intel X5670 @ 2,93GHz 12C/24T
  • 96GB DDR3 CL7 ECC Ram
  • 8x SATA HDDs (various sizes)
  • 2x 15K SAS HDDs 500GB
  • LSI SAS2008 HBA (Flashed: IT-Mode)
  • HP SAS 24x Expander
  • Asus Xonar D1 Sound
  • 2x GBe NICs (1x PCIe - 1x USB 3.0)
  • NEC USB 3.0 Host Card
  • Couple of SSDs
  • AMD Radeon RX 480 (8GB GDDR5)
  • Kernel: Linux 4.15.0-72
  • Wine Version: lutris-nofshack 4.19

Things I tried already:

  • Installing Arch, Lutris, Drivers from snatch
  • Installing Manjaro, Lutris, Drivers from snatch
  • Upgrades mesa to version: 19.2.8, 19.3.1
  • Downgraded mesa to version: 19.1.7
  • Installing Linux Mint, Lutris and Drivers from snatch
  • Using various kernels from 4.x and 5.x era. on both arch and manjaro
  • Using various wine builds including protonified.
  • Disable DXVK, Disable Esync (Still crashing - not a dxvk issue)
  • Switched from dx10 to dx11 in-game.
  • Switched to virtual window mode in lutris.
  • Started cinnamon in software render mode.
  • Disabled v sync
  • Disabled composer
  • Verified the whole game
  • Re-downloaded the whole game
  • Clearing dxvk cache every now and then.
  • Installed linux to a entirely different machine with a AMD RX 570 GPU and also ECC Ram.

Do you have a clue what is going on?
