Genshin impact 3.5 or new versions

Generally yes, if a game gets updated, patches/mods have to be updated too. The files have to match.

I don’t know what kind of patch you are talking about here (an unfamiliar with the game), but you probably have to uninstall the game and start over and patch (incrementally?) to get to the current level of 3.5. If you had something else (e.g. third party patch) and patched to 3.5 the files may now be incorrect.

This wouldn’t be a problem if Mihoyo would release a linux version of their game in the first place!

I’m also having the same problem. The patch that we currently use now is no longer maintained, as the repo name suggests.

However, someone recently pushed a commit that adds the 3.5 patch. However, that patch is untested and as the patch process suggests it can lead to a ban. Has anyone tested it? I’m too afraid to test it honestly.

Thank you all for answering. m4sim I think the patch is currently mainteined as last updated was 1h ago. If you look last patches, each is 1 month apart, 42 days aprox appart, and 2 days ago was in testing phase. So, I think, maybe today (as one topic similar as this suggest) or in a couple of days we have the patch functioning.

I will test it! I have a second drive with pop os installed. Be right back with a response!

Yeah…i’ve tested it and the game works just fine! You could give it a shot too if you have a second spare account tho…

GGood!
Although for me I wait to the “official” patch as I don’t have a second account and I’m a begginer in this type of things. I need I guide.
Does anyone tried running GI in a virtual machine or virtual box? VM would be another option

Thank you!

Genshin Impact on a vm could be a huge pain in the ass because of the anti-cheat…(virtualbox isn’t gonna perform well anyways).
You’re also gonna need to passthrough a GPU to your vm (that alone requires a motherboard with iommu suport and a cpu with a decent amount of cores).
Personally i would stick with zerodaypatch because it just works without hassle.
I’ve also tested the the patch on my main account for a couple of hours and i didn’t get banned wich is a huge step in the right direction…
I just wish Mihoyo would release an official linux client version of their game (or at least a customized proton version for it?) That would be nice, but i get a feeling they won’t.

ok thank you. can you tell me what you did exactly for running the patch? as I said i’m pretty new and a little scared of losing the account but I’m playing on android and it’s not the same as playing it on PC. I’m thinking of leaving a try the patch in a couple of days if the official patch is not released in a new account.

Well, it’s pretty much straight forward:
You download the patch, unzip it somwhere, then replace the folder “gi_patch” with the one you just downloaded (it’s located under Genshin Impact>drive_c>gi_patch.
I can assure you won’t get banned on your main account just as i didn’t, even tho i played with 3.5 patch for 2 days now and nothing happend.
The patch seem to work just like the one for 3.4 worked previously.

ok thank you, I’ve done it and except for once that has crashed and exit everything is ok.
I’ve been playing for 2-3 h with both accounts.

That’s good to know.
The game crashed on me too the first time i connected my PS4 controller, then it worked as it should.
The game really works well to the point that it’s very much playable (there’s a couple of hiccups here in there, but mostly it’s fine).

well, the game has crashed today 3 times in 2 hours! I don’t think that’s good :frowning:

That’s not good. Do you still experience crashes? As for me…the game constantly takes up between 90-100% of the gpu for some reason. Doesn’t happen on windows tho with the same graphic settings.

I don’t know about the GPU but it crashes a lot, really a lot. I’m planning returning to android.
Patch stills not updating officiallly :frowning:

I tried but crashes remain :frowning: thanks

try to use “an anime game launcher”

Hi,
I revive the post since GI doesn’t open anymore (code:31-1432) and when I’ve tried reinstalling it (both options of Genshin Impact - Lutris any of them has resolved the issue and open correctlly. It completely worked yesterday.
Does anyone have the same issue?
Thanks.

EDIT: I’ve tried to install an anime game launcher first from here an-anime-game-launcher-bin - Pacstall but in step 2 ubuntu 22.04 isn’t supported.
