Game Crashes early: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Redux from Epic Store

Hi,

i just made this account, i did try gaming through Lutris a few times, the results were 50/50 wether i get a good experience or not, just like this time.

I installed 2 games

Relicta (Works fine)

and

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Redux, that one Crashes, after the logos go away i see the menu for about half a second and the game crashes, i tried a different runner, one with no fshack (i dont have a modded kernel), same result, but on proton DB the game is rated Platinum.

So whats up, any suggestions what to try to fix it?

Did you ever get this resolved? I’m having the same issue on my Steam Deck.

Well, I can attest that I can play it without problems. I do have the Epic Store version that they gave away sometime ago.

For reference, I’m using fshack 6.21-6. I have an Nvidia card with the proprietary drivers, version 515.76-2. (I’m mentioning that since I did had once problems with a ryzen 5700G with integrated graphics. Maybe that could be your case?)
