Hio, if you are on Nobara, i think you should try the Lutris Version from Nobara Package.

Files under ~/.var/app/net.lutris.Lutris/data/lutris/banners should get created when Lutris flatpak connects to a service for the first time.

If it doesn’t then either permissions in ~/.var/app are b0rked, something went very wrong with the flatpak install, or something is blocking flatpak from accessing it.
Did you copy files from another system ? What service did you connect to first?

Where is the package source for Lutris from - flathub?

I just installed the latest flatpak from flathub on EndeavourOS and it creates the “banners” directories without problems. (flatpak also works on Mint22, but that’s my main system and I prefer the Git version.)

Which services do you configure, GoG? Steam? After you login to Lutris? Something else?

If it is a bug then then the steps to reproduce this would be helpful.

Since you’ve changed OS twice, If you can, please start clean and in debug mode.

  1. delete ~/.var/app/net.lutris.Lutris (Note: you will lose everything installed in the flatpak!!)
  2. …and then run lutris in debug and see if you get a clearer error
rm -rf ~/.var/app/net.lutris.Lutris
flatpak run net.lutris.Lutris -d

Also info about the flatpak (specifically the Date which is when it was built)
