The errror message written in the title appears when starting Mordhau. No other games based on unreal engine were tested.


I needed to make this link-list because I wasn’t allowed to send the links here. Please note that the order of the links was thrown around by the page so that I created descriptions for the convenience.

Solution:

Search the game in the steam library, right click it and press “options”.
Click on “start options” and insert

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Makes it run, leads to very poor perfomance on the other hand.
