Control Ultimate Edition works in Heroic but not Lutris

I made a previous topic about this. Control will install through Lutris but hang on the title menu and won’t allow the player to press enter to access the main menu. Is there a way to see what is different from the Heroic install versus the Lutris one and maybe get the Lutris one working?

Hey, go onto ProtonPlus (the flatpak one) to install a GE-Proton version (i thinbk the 9th one works well)
Heroic installs games with a separate prefix folder than the installation folder (where the game is actually located).
But Heroic has a default proton version that i forgot the name.

But for GOG and Epic Games games, you will prefer using Heroic instead of Lutris because of the lack of save sync, success sync etc…
Unless you did installed GOG Galaxy independently (like, you are running Control inside GOG Galaxy (inside Lutris)), you’ll not have those features in Lutris.

Yeah try different proton versions, tinker a bit.

You are using the flatpak Lutris version or your package manager one (like apt or pacman) ?

(Prefer the flatpak version)

I’ve been using Lutris forever, are you saying Heroic is better than Lutris for GOG? GOG is all I install through it. If there’s pros to switching to Heroic then I could just do that. Is there a better way than either one that’s just for GOG?

On this forum, switching to Heroic or Bottles is never a good solution:
if a game works with Heroic or Bottles, it should work with Lutris, they all use the same components.

I will install this game with Lutris and try to reproduce your issue.

I just created a new script installer for this game, try it and tell me if it works for you, it is called “GOG version”.
If you encounter issue, come on our Discord server and provide a debug log.

Lutris just seems more feature rich than Heroic? I only used Heroic for Epic Games and Control but I didn’t feel like it ran better than Lutris.

Bottles seems like a huge mess in general.
