recently got monster train and its dlc from gog got it working via lutris with no issue but after finishing my first run i noticed there is no sign of the dlc anywhere. so i grabbed the manual download and tried to install it via the exe but installation couldnt find the base monster train game and it gave me no way to tell it where the exe is
how do i implement the monster train dlc?
I don’t have Monster Train to test, but are you running the dlc installation exe inside the game prefix (select the game, click the arrow next to the wine bottle, select “Run EXE inside Wine prefix”)?. If yes, try moving the dlc installer into the wine prefix folders (maybe even inside the same folder as the game exe) and run it inside the prefix from there.
in order to run the exe i use the ‘+’ in lutris to ‘install a windows game from an exe’
i have attempted to move the dlc.exe inside the folder that contains the exe lutris uses to play the game but that didnt change anything, i have not seen any option to “Run EXE inside Wine prefix” anywhere though how do i do that?
Click on the game (once) and a thing comes up on the bottom, it says Play, then an arrow, and then a wine glass, then an arrow. Click on the arrow after the wine glass and a menu will come up.
neat didnt know about that, anywho i just gave that a go and same thing. “the base game was not installed”
EDIT: found a work-around. just get a windows computer and install normally then make a zip of the completed monster train and transfer it via a flash drive to the linux computer and it works!
annoying that i need a windows computer to install a a game on linux but there ya go
