Newer version of Cemu don’t seem to have the game path setting.
1.18 usually opens first time asks for the game path.
in 1.7-1.9 I don’t see it or an option in the menus.
Is there a different method now?

According to the project wiki, there’s a command line option for that (and also a menu item, apparently).
Isn’t that the better way to begin with? To have a separate link for each game (you have to copy them by hand but only once per game) and run them in one click?
Yea I don’t get it. The official site has 1.18 for download while other sites say there are newer versions. But those look different, have different icons and no game path menus. I suppose they are fakes?
Setting up this Zelda BOTW on Cemu has gotta be one of the most complex computer ordeals i’ve ever had to do in my life. There are so many obstacles.
Blows my mind. I don’t understand why people share these files when you have like 20 steps to set it up, half of which are incomplete and dealing with outdated files. Why don’t people just finish the job before they share the archive?
I’ve been working on this for almost a week now.
If you’re talking about 1.9 you mentioned earlier… 18 > 9, just so you know. So I’m guessing most of your problems come from accidentally using a highly outdated version of the emulator.
From what I understand, all you really need to do is use the install script to install Cemu, then add a path to the game file to the launch parameters, and you’ll have a (hopefully) working game link.
