Can't install w3 anymore

I can’t install warcraft 3 with Lutris anymore. My previous installation was in september 2019. Everything worked, now I am trying to re-install it, and it crashes. I re-installed all the required libraries. My current system: Linux Mint 18.3.

Please help me I’m confined with the coronavirus and I’m bored as hell!

Please, even if there is an obvious solution that I am too ignorant to realize, give me a hint or a few things I should check in order to progress

Is this a retail copy, or are you installing the BattleNet version? Because when Activision/Blizzard released Warcraft 3: Refunded, they kinda sorta removed original Warcraft 3 from their servers (replacing it with an artificially downgraded W3R)…

If it’s a retail version, have you tried installing it by hand (i.e. running installer executable with Wine)? That works sometimes (e.g. GOG downloads fail right now but everything else in the install scripts works, so we can rename the downloaded files correctly and run them using “Run EXE inside wine prefix” option). Or at least give you some insight what could be happening. (The error message says cmd /c echo '%ProgramFiles%' returned an empty string but that’s unlikely, you can check it in using “Wine console” option but it likely will print Windows path to a Program Files folder.)

Alternatively, if it’s a BattleNet version, maybe try a different install script? There seems to be several…
