Can not install blizzard battle.net app - hangs at 45percent

good evening all,

i have problems with installing battle.net-client with lutris…

about my past: i installed battle.net-app a long time of months before with steam-app… and later i installed battle.net-app with lutris… last week i had problems with the battle.net-app, that i installed with lutris… after that i started the lutris-app and rightclicked on battle.net-app-link and i clicked on “entfernen”, my lutris app is in german, “entfernen” means “remove” or “delete”…

after that i tried installing battle.net-app again and: it hangs at 45% a long time, and later then comes an error message…

can it be, that i should remove some old battle.net-app-files or directories to make my system clean?

i like your help, can you help me here please? =)

Hi, I have the same issue, and I have found in a Reddit Post: Battle Net Fix

As a resume:

  1. Download wine-10.6-staging-tkg-amd64 (I have tested with 10.7 and is working fine) using ProtonPlus
  2. Use that Wine in Wine Configuration for Lutris
  3. Install Battle.Net, now will not be stuck in 45%
  4. After the process finish, don’t login
  5. Change again the Wine for Lutris to the original one you had before this installation
  6. Go to Battle.Net in Lutris and change it again the Wine to be used to wine-10.6-staging-tkg-amd64
  7. Start Battle.Net, now you can login.

For me also I have enabled browser hardware acceleration in BattleNet configuration to avoid get stuck in black screens.

I can play Starcraft 1 and 2 without issues. Warcraft Reforged is not working.
