Hi everyone! I’ve readed all posts with similar cases but I haven’t found a solution. First, thanks for your patience in advanced because I’m REALLY BAD and SLOW with computer things.

I tried to install battlenet, before that I followed the instructions on the page itself about drivers and dependences and I sopose that I installed it properly, not sure.

I’ll glad on any tip or possible solution. Thank you so much and sorry for the annoyance!

Hi, it would if you please provide more information, such as tutorials that you followed (ex. web sites) etc.

In addition please share output of:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install inxi
inxi -Fxz
apt show lutris -a

From what I see battlenet is not a game so I’m not sure what did you install?

Here yo got, thanks! I tried to install battlenet from here Blizzard Battle.net - Lutris

and I followed this docs/Battle.Net.md at master · lutris/docs · GitHub

and this ones too. Thanks agains!

I have downloaded battlenet from Download Battle.net | Battle.net installed it without issues and it runs without issues.

Therefore problem is with your system because mine is configured well.
But I can’t tell what’s wrong with yours unless you provide details which I asked but you didn’t share:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install inxi
inxi -Fxz
apt show lutris -a

Please post output of the 3rd and 4th command above.

I hide it on summary before sorry, here you got

Sorry, I completely missed that!

You have switchable GPU’s right?
Does Nvidia turn on only while you play games? can you make nvidia only active and disable Intel GPU somewhere?
Please note that your Nvidia GPU is pretty old and not good for gaming.

Another question, does the following command produce any installation candidates?
If yes please share output.

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 && sudo apt update
sudo apt search nvidia-driver-libs*

Regardless of previous output install the following:

sudo apt install libc6:i386
sudo apt install libvulkan1 libvulkan1:i386

Greetings again! Yes it’s a switchable one. But I use to have always the GT 740 on. The curious is that I updated Mint from 21 to 22. And before the format I installed and played it with not so much problems. But now with Mint 22 I did the same that the previous one installation but nothing.

About the commands you gived to me, it says that everything is updated.

There are 2 issues you have:

  1. outdated lutris - install at least 0.5.16 with your hardware - lutris.net → downloads → Ubuntu to the git page and get the 0.5.16 deb (not the 17 yet) - right click → open with gdebi after downloading.

  2. 470 drivers don’t support the latest dxvk/vkd3d versions that are default in lutris - you will need to select dxvk version 1.10.3 and vkd3d version 2.6 as you defaults.

What will really help is getting the output for lutris -d per the instructions in the pinned message in the forums (you have provided the rest already) when you are installing bnet.

I changed vkd3d to 2.6 (the other one was already 1.10.3) and I tried to install again battle but the error stills there.

three lines on lutris title bar → preferences → global options → enable Advanced at the top → find the Multi-GPU section and set the vulkan ICD loader field to nvidia proprietary. Save and try the install again

There is any other name for that option? I changed to advanced but I haven’t found it. The only GPU option or similar I changed was one where I set NVIDIA as default. I haven’t found anything about vulkan ICD, and I touched every button XD

Even I tried to switch to other wine versions. I have downloaded ge 8.26 and lutris 7.2.2, and even switched to System Ubuntu 9, the only difference are different message errors. Almost alwats saying something about arial, winetricks 64 and 32.

Which probably means you don’t have 32 bit Nvidia libs because battlenet requires 32 bit libs.
Install the following and see if it works:

sudo apt install nvidia-driver-libs:i386

It says that “is obsolete or doesn’t have a candidate”

Name of the package might be something else, try this:

sudo apt install nvidia-driver-libs-i386:i386

If result is same as before then please post output of:

apt search --names-only nvidia-driver-libs

There are any more commands to give any additional info?

If you want to solve this quickly, jump over to the discord server (link on lutris.net) and I can get this fixed in a few minutes

In the meantime, here are the correct commands:

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 && sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y wine64 wine32 libasound2-plugins:i386 libsdl2-2.0-0:i386 libdbus-1-3:i386 libsqlite3-0:i386

sudo apt install -y nvidia-driver-470 libvulkan1 libvulkan1:i386

Hi again! I tried but this message persist. I’ll try the Discord option too. Thanks!

Ok! After a few intents (thanks OJ, and the rest too off course) seems that Lutris on Mint 22 recent update seems broken. I did what OJ suggested me that is use the Flatpack version and seems that worked fine!

I’ll try tomorrow if gaming works well too and will report it here.

Thanks for everything again!
